When the Urgency kicks in to to do the first thing that needs your attention, you may be missing the really important tasks that will further your true goals.
I have found the best way to get things done, is to plan a year in advance.
And this is easier than it sounds.
I don’t particularly like lists of things to do. Not that lists are bad things. But a list closes the door on progress. It allows you to postpone the work you could probably do today.
So what should you do?
The key is to first determine your ONE THING.
What is the ONE THING you need to do in the year?
Your one thing can then be broken into FOUR COMPONENTS that you assign to each quarter of the year.
A quarter of the year is three months. So now you can break down the FOUR COMPONENTS into three sub-components.
And then make your list of things to do each week.
I choose Sunday as the day that I plan for my Monday-Friday work.
