Speedbird 9 was the call sign for the only flight known to have flown into volcanic ash, lost power in ALL FOUR engines, and recovered. The volcanic ash was like sandpaper and completely scratched the cockpit windows, burned out the engines and helped people stop and think about what’s important in life! What a story. Probably connected to the 747 story above, Judy redirected us to SNL! Always good for a laugh. A Scottish accent air controller tries to tell a terrified passenger how to land the plane….it doesn’t end well. But this is SNL so its all for laughs!
Somehow we diverted into a new room in the AERODYLAN club and we talked about James Bond….(to be continued…)
